These Are a Few of Our Favorite Kansas City Condos

Just like Blockbuster has an isle for its hard core movie buffs and employees to name their favorite movies, we've looked inside our soul after showing hundreds of condos per month to name our favorite picks.

Brenda's Favs

With all of Kansas City's condominium and loft projects, new and old, buyers have hundreds of choices for their future urban address. From new construction, to converted apartments, to highrise condo towers that have been icons on the Plaza skyline for decades.

Two of my favorite condo projects are Northgate Village Row Houses (I own one) and The Ravello. You get so much for your money at these developments, mainly richly finished square footage, 2 car garages, and huge balconies (that can seat a party of 12-20 vs. 2).

In the downtown corridor, my favorite condos are First and Main (the Italian kitchens are to die for), Bridgeworks Lofts (they are true lofts with its master bedroom 16 feet up on a beautiful mezzanine with skylights that open), and Unit 1A at 523 Grand (it has a fireplace, mezzanine, underground parking space, 2 bedrooms, decked out kitchen and is marked down $30,000 from last year). Note: I'm drawn to smaller projects vs. mega lofts with 200+ units.

Obviously I have a bias for the River District where I lived in the 80s and 90s and now where I office. The River Market is always alive thanks to the Farmers Market, the slew of creative firms that line Delaware Street and the 32 restaurants and clubs that draw residents out nightly. It's also one of the friendliest pockets you'll find in KC.

AJ's Favs

What are my favorite lofts and condos in the Urban Core? Glad you asked! I purchased my condo for it's location within walking distance to the Country Club Plaza and Westport. Normandy Square offers shopping and nightlife galore for a price that will not hurt your pocket book but you must hurry, there is not much to choose from in the current inventory! Another favorite plaza location of mine is of course, the Churchill. Not only does it offer a lobby that is modern as one can get, it offers a rooftop clubroom that has one of the best views in town set up with an awesome fireplace and TV. If you have not seen this property, give us a call!

As for downtown, The Reserve and Windows/Piper Lofts offer very modern sales centers. The only draw back is not being able to see a unit that is completed. These developments have not hit that stage in the game yet to view a completed unit, but will surely be something to talk about in the near future. Another downtown favorite is Coffee Lofts. It offers leased covered, yes I said covered, parking - a hard to find downtown - and almost 20 foot ceilings in some units. A very true to its name, Loft. Lastly, who can forget Conover Place that has been featured on Fine Living in 2004. It a national TV show thinks its special, that says something!

That's our 2 cents worth on our Kansas City condo favs. Email us with yours.
